Mormons remain Mormons after they attend Mormon school (otherwise known as the Utah public education system), so why should it be different for Catholics attending Catholic school? Is there something about the religions specifically? I don't know. I think that Tealin knows a lot of people who have left the faith, but then I'm guessing that two things come into play: 1) It is more common for people her age to drift away from the church for a while, then drift back at a later age when they realize what they are missing. 2) There is less social pressure to continue going to church if you are Catholic than there is if you are Mormon.
