Standard Maintenance

Yesterday's Sketchbook - By the time I got home I was tired, mentally exhausted, and my headache hadn't gone away (still hasn't, grr) so I just did the cop-out and drew my cat.

The FINAL episode of Small Gods is up. (dun dun duuunnnn)

...If only V had made the rest of his armour out of the same material as his mask...
Or maybe just a bunch of masks (he had enough to spare) – that would have been sweeet... in a ridiculous kind of way.

My cat is neither regal nor lovely, he just looks that way. He's actually a BRAT. He's taken to waking me up at 4:30 to 5:30am, wanting to be fed – I have never gotten up before my alarm to feed him so I don't know where he got the idea that I would – and I have to get out of bed and kick him out of my room because if I just lie there and ignore him he'll pee on something. Of course, by then, it's too late for me to get back to sleep properly before my alarm goes off... He's also not affectionate at all, but that, I think, is divine justice because neither am I, except with cats.

There is a lady who comes by work once a month with her massage chair, and you can sign up for segments of time. I tried it last time she was here but didn't notice much difference ... and she just does 'relaxation massages,' not massage therapy. I'm a pretty relaxed person anyway, and now that I've figured out how to use my Cintiq without hunching up my shoulders even that problem has gone. Dunno what caused the headache; it didn't feel like a tension headache and even if it was, they usually go away after a good night's sleep.

Ah, sounds like one of my girls. She has taken to hopping on my dresser while I sleep and, around 4am, knocking things from the dresser onto the floor to remind me that I am supposed to feed her. I am to blame for this since I often wake up at 5am to work out, so I have gotten her in the habit of being fed then. I am lucky neither of my cats is arrogant. They are actually very sweet and friendly and act more like dogs- dogs that can jump on dressers at 4 in the morning and knock things off. One of the cats has three legs so she gets a lot of pity from strangers. She has not yet figured out she has only three legs.

Yes, you are right. Massage therapy is very different from relaxation stuff. It is good to hear that you are relaxed and headaches are not such a big problem for you.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why do you even have that cat?? He sounds like nothing more than a drain on your resources - what is the upside? Surely there's a bigger glutton for punishment somewhere, willing to take him off your hands for you.
I'm perversely glad I'm not the only one that was getting MAJOR cramps and pain trying to adjust to using the cintique (my back, my legs, my arms and wrists, my brain, etc.) - finally having a keyboard shelf added to my great old desk has helped a lot (now I can put the screen right on the edge of my desk, spin it around, etc., and the keyboard is finally at the right height for my hands - I was seriously feeling tendonitis or something creeping up my right wrist)

Guilt, mostly.

To be fair, he has improved a lot since we first got him...

Man - you sound like a battered wife! Guilt? What, did he save your life or something? (yeah, I know, I'm one to talk, the perpetual dormat who's still paying "child support" for those kittens, but that doesn't mean I like seeing this sort of thing happen to other people!) What's the story here? (no pressure :))
