Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

Who's the most loveable and pathetic supervillain on the block?

There's a whole list of things I promised myself I'd draw as soon as I got some free time but dangit, this has hijacked them all.

Who wants to bet that at some point Penny's red hair will fly up and her eyes go big an black as it is revealed she has mighty super powers? Possibly evil powers because you'd never expect that of a sweet homeless advocate. Ooooh...

BTW, the frozen yogurt? Such an LA thing. Build-your-own frogurt shops are taking over. Not that that's a bad thing. If Pinkberry and Starbucks ever forge an alliance ... look out, world.

Is it just me or does Neil Patrick Harris occasionally look related to Dominique Pinon? And how does M. Pinon look so normal in most of the Google Image Search and so grotesque in all of Jean-Paul Jeunet's films?

I digress.

Don't tell me no one else thought of this after the last episode:

If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, mosey on over HERE and enjoy! (The Plan is also entertaining but not as much as the real thing.) Or at the very least, crash their server again. It's only available to watch for free till the 20th, then you have to buy it off iTunes. (Cunning!) I have to admit I only found it mildly amusing the first time, but then I watched it again and watched the second episode and ... yeah. You can see what happened.

Oh, Joss Whedon, don't ever change. We need someone who's so good at character development and capable of being tongue-in-cheek and sincere simultaneously. Please clone yourself, or at least take an apprentice, so that your skills are not lost when you are inevitably taken back to your home planet (or go mad like George Lucas).

I've been reading a lot about this show, but havn't seen it yet. When I hear the title I'm always reminded of a TMBG song titled "Someone Keeps Moving my Chair," which is about a guy named Mr. Horrible.

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
What it while you still can! It might be almost as cool as They Might Be Giants!

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Erm, that should be 'watch' ... I am a bit distracted today.

[identity profile] priscellie.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
*dies at Captain JFK*

As for Penny, I'm convinced she's Bad Horse. :D

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
That would explain how she knows he's 'The Thoroughbred of Crime.' Heehee!

[identity profile] sinick.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The Thoroughbred of SIN!

No Cowboy Chorus for YOU! :D

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I FAIL. Wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I knew that sounded wrong but I couldn't think what it was...

I guess that means I have to watch it again! OH NO!

[identity profile] sinick.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
*chortles* S'ok. I got a grin out of reading all the revisions.

[identity profile] pandoras-closet.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
And that would so be Whedon's style.

[identity profile] alexandra-stone.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
hahha, yes! Penny is so gonna be evil XDDDD

[identity profile] sinick.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
SOOOO MUCH LOVE for these sketches! :D

[identity profile] pooryorick.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man, it's so good. And I love these sketches! Capt. Hammer ala Clone High is GENIUS. (And I mean that in a not-sarcastic way, of course.)

[identity profile] youngcurmudgeon.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Captain Hammer as JFK has just made my life even more awesome than Dr. Horrible. Thanks!

[identity profile] kairii1989.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I loved part 1, but each time I remember to watch part 2 it's right when I'm turning off my computer.

Joss Whedon's genius has lead me to declare him my master and alert the world to this by wearing my "Joss Whedon is my master now" shirt. It's also a conversation peice.

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, I need one of those!

[identity profile] mincot.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG, build your own yogurt shops are back again? They were the rage in the late 70's-early 80s, and then they disappeared ....

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, they're back here, I haven't seen them anywhere else...

[identity profile] mincot.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
And yes, Captain Smarty-pants is in FINE form. The hammer I'm talking about ....

:D :D :D

Pity these can only be downloaded with Itunes. I wish there was a Linux download file.

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
It'll probably be torrentable before too long... trust the Internet. ;)

[identity profile] cabbitwocky.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I hear it'll be available on DVD by the end of the year. :D

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Even better! Support the artists! Get a better picture! Death to Linux and its bloody annoying 'the window the cursor is in is active' protocol!

[identity profile] octaveleap.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
OH MY GOD. This has cheered me up IMMENSELY after a horrible and painful doctor's visit. THANK YOU!!

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no! I hope after all that pain and inconvenience you at least came away with a good verdict...?

My pleasure. Anything to help. :)

[identity profile] chainedwind.livejournal.com 2008-11-04 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I just watched it and.....

This cheered you up?

D:

[identity profile] constantine2530.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
IN MY PANTS! lmao
btw, your avatar is a drawing from Mike Mignola, isn't it? o.O

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
It ... looks like it's a drawing from Mike Mignola. In fact I am immensely flattered that you though it was, because I drew it. :D

[identity profile] constantine2530.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously? I originally thought that you had cut the background and body and put another face or sumthin, xD
But that would've been way more complicated lol
I love it!!! It's Mike Mignolalesque x) and btw, I'm a fan of your hp (LUPIN... LUPIN) drawings ^^

[identity profile] bibliokat.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Heeee! Awesome drawings! I'm rewatching Acts I and II right now because III is up!!!!!!

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
It's up now?? AAAAH! That makes me want to go back to work to watch it on a reliable internet connection!

AAAAAAH!

DON'T TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS (no matter how I may beg)!

[identity profile] ubiquitouspitt.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha-ha huh-huh ha- ah -holy crap- omg. Thank you. For this. *wipes a tear* The world is a mess and I just ... need to rule it.

Pinkberry? That's a real thing? I thought it was just a credit card commercial... I haven't seen frogurt in years. Not a TCBY to be found in this place. We're damned lucky to have a bubble tea hut and - hey! anyone living in NC? Drive to Wilmington and go to the bubble tea hut because I fear my patronship alone, devoted as it is, will not be enough to prop them up!

[identity profile] ubiquitouspitt.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I have to comment, also, that this is all very reminiscent of Jonathan Coulton's "Skullcrusher Mountain" - if you've never heard that, you should getcher paws on it.

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
The world is a mess and I just ... need to rule it.

What frightens me is how many of my friends have said almost exactly the same thing. Including you, I believe. :) None of them have invented a freeze ray, though.

I believe you sent me that song a while ago. Good times!

[identity profile] ubiquitouspitt.livejournal.com 2008-07-20 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm actually... running out of rays to invent. Freeze ray, death ray... how about a RAY BAN??? The anti-ray that turns back all inferior rays?!

The rayban...

(What kinda of song can I write about that?)

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-20 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[dies a little from lack of oxygen due to sniggering]

P.S. I've been trying to call you, lady!

[identity profile] ubiquitouspitt.livejournal.com 2008-07-21 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I uh...

Don't bother, I'd only be a dissapointment <: (

[identity profile] aspectabund.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Build your own frozen yogurt? Is it at all similar to Yogen Fruz? (http://www.yogenfruz.com/) 'Cos I've had those near me for YEARS, and I'm in Canada. They have delicious frozen yogurt where you start with plain yogurt and pick three fruits to go into it and also pick a juice. And you get toppings and stuff. Mmmm.

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-07-19 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
The ones I've seen here have a row of self-serve yogurt machines in a variety of flavours (sometimes with fat/sugar free options and sorbets as well) and then a bar of toppings you can choose from, then it's weighed and charged by the ounce. Different places might do things differently – Pinkberry, I think, has regulated sizes, but still has a wide selection of base flavours. I've never set foot inside one, though, shame on me!

Yeah, frozen yogurt has never really gone away... I used to visit YogenFruz when I still lived in Canada and it seemed to be much more of a man-behind-the-counter operation than what's exploding here.
