And the Updates Keep Trickling In...

While listening to The Vile Village, I remembered a drawing that hadn't made it to Photobucket and therefore was not included in the most recent update of my site. In looking for it I discovered a few more stragglers, so they're up on The Snicket Page now, along with some snippets of media that felt like they belonged.

Hector the handyman ... I can kind of see why I didn't post this when I drew it because meh ... not so great ...

A crow-hatted elder from the Village of Fowl Devotees. That's some fine headwear, there.

I also discovered that the most Snickety minute in cinema is now on YouTube. I should warn you, over the course of the clip, three people get shot, two of them in a war setting, so if you have no stomach for such things, turn away now. The scene I'm talking about is at 3:44. Things being how they are, I don't know how long this clip will be up ...

Huh, Gaspard Ulliel!

Sorry for the unintelligent comment, his appearance just caught me by surprise...

No worries, that sort of thing happens to me all the time. :)

Those drawings are lovely! I'd wear that hat, for sure :)

Well, I think your Hector looks *GREAT*. Especially his hair. I love his hair. I think I have a crush on this drawing, in fact. Poor old timid Hector with his lofty dreams...

I have never seen "A Very Long Engagement", but wow, it looks incredible! Also, 1920s fashion is *SO* sexy (especially if worn by Audrey Tautou...) I think I must rent this now.

Well, if you're crushing on this drawing, that's good enough for me... I might tweak it a little, though, if I draw him again. Just to polish the rough edges.

It's not on our DVD shelf, so it might very well be in that stack of DVDs I brought over (unless L has lent it to someone without my knowledge). And dude, YES, the costuming in this movie is awesome! All the books and pictures of 20s fashion seem to concentrate on the flappers, but that's like saying everything in the 90s was Grunge – ordinary people had really cool clothes too! I wish I could find more reference for it than just what's in this movie ... or maybe it was only in France ... or maybe it's just the beautiful fantasy of the costume designer on this movie. No matter what, though, yowza!

I should also add that A Very Long Engagement also makes strategic use of the overture to La forza del destino, which made me snicker like mad.

lol your Hector drawing reminds me of Gilbert Blythe XD I really dunno why....

That is precisely what I was thinking, and I'm not sure why, either.
