Bolt!

Hey look, there's a clip on Yahoo!

And an interview with – hey wait a minute, I know that guy! Ladies and Gentlemen, The Voice of Rhino!

Haha, that was actually brought up just yesterday ... all the early reviews that came out of the press visit a couple weeks ago have been along the lines of 'pleasantly surprised.' Someone said that's the sort of quote they should put on the poster ... instead of 'Amazing!' or 'This season's best movie!' it would read 'Better than we were expecting!' or 'Surprisingly good!'

haha, well it might be monty-pythonesque of me, but I'd totally go see a movie whose promo poster said, "pleasantly surprising!" I am really impressed with the quality of detail. It just keeps getting better and better.

The clip is great! Are you coming to his 40th birthday party?

That is a good clip! *joins the Pleasantly Surprised club* The best part was either Rhino and the happy face or the boxer-like dog enveloping the hampster-ball with his mouth. 8D

But, uh, isn't it a sort of bad idea to show that part of a movie? It seems like it's part of the all-important self-discovery-climactic bit. I doubt anyone could say they found the contents of that clip surprising, but it seems like an extremely, oh, I don't know another word for it: spoilery.

I think they're being pretty smart about it ... there's a bit that comes before this scene that would be a lot more 'spoilery' (in that giving-away-a-big-moment kind of way) though still not really a surprise as far as what happens. By releasing this clip they can communicate a couple of already guessable story points, introduce the characters beyond just the catch phrases they use in the trailer, and (most importantly) give every one a pleasant surprise, which might get more bums on seats than the trailer alone, especially as the response to the trailer tended towards 'I was kind of hoping the whole movie would be like the TV show.'

I love the hamster! Rodents are cool!

I actually got one of those runny balls for my mice.

Oh my god, the happy face on the steamed-up hamster ball just about killed me. What a brilliant, simple idea. I feel the symptoms of a new animated obsession coming on. About time I stepped away from the Robinsons.
