Dr Horrible Strikes Again

I was doing some shopping on Amazon (ahem [innocent look]) and was greeted by this, after one purchase:

Customers who shopped for Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog also shopped for ...

Oh Horrible fans, you have no shame and I love you.

In case you were wondering, it is available on DVD now, and region-free so all you people shunned by iTunes can have your long-awaited joy.

I thought I saw somewhere that the DVD was somehow region-less. That it could play on any region DVD player.

[identity profile] gypsyjr.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
It is region-free. Joss Whedon confirmed it.

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Well whaddaya know, it is! I swear when I looked at it before it said 'This is only Region 1 and we burn it specially when you order.' Maybe they got so many orders they went 'Whoooaa! We'd better get a company to press a whole bunch of these!' And perhaps international customers were upset that they were excluded YET AGAIN ...

Thank you for the red flag; I shall amend my statement.

LOL That is so awesome!

[identity profile] bibliokat.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
I admit, I TOTALLY WANT THE BRO CODE.

And Dr. Horrible:)

[identity profile] shadowmaat.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Half the things on my Christmas list are Doctor Horrible related. Including the Bro Code. On audio, of course.

I don't have the goggles, though. I'm too much of a perfectionist and the ones I've seen aren't "good enough" for me. LOL!

[identity profile] bibliokat.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
AHAHAHA! You are definitely smarter than me; I didn't even think about why people were searching goggles. Let us know if you find good ones!

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
I am not ashamed to admit that goods being 'not perfect enough' saves me a LOT of money in dorky fandom purchases. Especially, as with most animation-related merchandise, when I feel I can make it better myself. But of course I have no time to make it myself, which thereby cuts down on clutter. It is a good system.

[identity profile] stevie-roch.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
Pssh, real fans make they're own goggles.

(I'm being facetious.)

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
That arcane art of epoxy-putty sculpture. :)

[identity profile] danicarip.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
*shuffles feet guiltily*

I actually *did* make my own goggles for Halloween...

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Oo! How? (I'm guessing not epoxy-putty sculpture)

(but if it was, WOW.)

[identity profile] stevie-roch.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
That's cool! I'd make my own goggles if I was going to do it. But I have experience in constructing costumes and props for theater, so I can't hold everyone to my standards of costume effort.

teeheehee

heehee

teehee :)

fans are funny.

[identity profile] ubiquitouspitt.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my goodness! I would have been Dr Horrible for Halloween if I could have afforded those goggles...

[identity profile] bakurakrazie.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahaha. Awesome.

I'M VERY EXCITED TO HEAR THE MUSICAL COMMENTARY, I ADMIT. 8DDDDDD

[identity profile] raddishh.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I DIED.

[identity profile] mildlyconfused.livejournal.com 2008-12-15 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Must. NOT. buy. goggles. just. to. wear. them. 'round. my. neck.
(this mantra is strangely reminiscent of back when they released HP Quidditch goggles...)

This whole "growing up"-business, when is it supposed to set in? Surely not before I turn fifty, right?

[identity profile] shadowmaat.livejournal.com 2008-12-16 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Whedonesque geek,
There's a bunch of stuff from Joss' 'verse that makes me go weak.
From "dolls" to vamps to a Horrible champ
It's the shiniest fandom yet!
I don't wanna grow up, 'cos it'd be bleak,
I couldn't be a Whedonesque geek.
More Mal, more Doc, IT ROCKS!
I wanna be a Whedonesque geek!

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-12-16 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
You don't want those goggles! They're BLUE! And they've got weird tabs on the shades, and they're the wrong shape, and ... no. Just no. I'm sure there's some industrial supply site you could find some better ones... Whedon & Co must have gotten theirs somewhere. Uber-low-budget productions are such a boon for cosplayers. :)

[identity profile] ceilonar.livejournal.com 2008-12-19 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Silly fans. Tricks are for kids and/or cosplayers.

I completely forgot the DVD was out! *lets the relatives know*

[identity profile] ceilonar.livejournal.com 2008-12-19 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Wait, silly me. I checked, and it's not out until the 31st. D'oh!

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2008-12-19 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
It was supposed to be the 19th! D: Maybe Santa's elves just got too many orders.

[identity profile] ceilonar.livejournal.com 2008-12-19 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I dunno, I'm ordering from Amazon.ca, and they say it's out on the 31st. :C

[identity profile] vfdj42.livejournal.com 2009-01-05 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
Let me know when Neil Patrick Harris himself is for sale.
