The Misadventure of the Lamp Oil

Today I got myself a kerosene lamp at the Sally Ann. I like kerosene lamps. Unfortunately, the lamp oil I got (it said "smokeless," I thought "that's a good idea") makes it smell like I've been running a car in whatever room it's been lit. And the smell will NOT go away. Well, okay, it gradually drifted out of the library because there are a number of very enthusiastic draughts in here, but my room is still putrid. :(

It's 3:37 AM and I haven't been able to sleep since one of my roommates dropped a glass in the kitchen at 1:30. Really ought to be working. But the aforementioned room may possibly be killing brain cells, so I might work on my Snicket review a bit.

My review is turning into a doctoral thesis. Apparently my brain does not have a "succinct" setting, so ... this could take a while.
