Upon the Commencement of New Employment
I'm all set up at my new desk now ... I've inherited [scavenged] the cubbyhole of a former colleague who's gone to work at Blue Sky* – it's got three walls, shelving, and, now, a POWAHFOOL COMPUTAH with a DVD drive and two monitors! I might never have to go home again. My narcoleptic June bug is living on top of my desk (at least I think he's alive...) and I shall soon bring assorted decorations and doodles to make this my little fort for the next two years.**
Oh yeah, and I'm working for PBS. Dear PBS: I love you guys!
On the whole, it's as close to a 180 as I can get from my most recent project: 3D dark action/adventure fantasy for a toy company vs. 2D light-hearted preschool programming for a non-profit broadcaster.
And, people: Go visit Tula's Journal – good stuff. And she is my kapooka. My didder. My kin.

Ah yes, there is nothing so grand as working on a cheerful cartoon show for small children while listening to a bunch of idealistic revolutionary students get slaughtered on a barricade.

Sorry, I'd forgotten I hadn't posted this yet:

The drawing bug struck while having hamburgers with Bananabasket... to be fair, I used mostly his ketchup. But it was my skewer stick.

First: Heartiest congratulations on the new job! I knew it couldn’t be too long before somebody snapped you up. It’s good to know that my tax money is finally going to be spent on an artistic project I approve of: your salary.
Second: I had already found Tulanoodle’s site via Bananabasket’s, and had been impressed enough to leave a message (especially after finding out that she’s a fellow Nicholas Nickleby fan). Those draconian heads of hers — splendid!
Third: You did that with ketchup?! I despair.
Fourth: No music is quite so grand as the sound of revolutionaries being slaughtered. Vive le Roi!
Fifth (and last): I may have posted this already anonymously. Delete as needed. I re-despair.

Footnotes!
DUDE my dad's workplace has two monitors! It is completely rocksome and whenever I get to sit in his chair I move the mouse back from monitor to monitor and giggle. Also, PBS, are you serious!? I love PBS! Quality programming like whoa!; what program are you working on?
You are forgiven for listening to horridly violent music while working because it is Les Mis, and that is amazing.
xDD Ketchup art = fanTAStic! You know, my sister and I used to get French fries, dip them in ketchup, and pretend to lipstick our lips. (YES IT IS A VERB)
(P.S. do kapooka and didder mean . . . sister? *bewildered* THIS STRANGE CANADIAN LANGUAGE; I FATHOM IT NOT.)

In other news, Les Miz is love. Nothing like a bloody revolution to put you in a calm and happy mood.

Well, I had to put it in as you were expecting it.
It's what I do.

I love your style -- lean, mean, and significant. Are you an animator? What program(s) do you use?

Okay, now I'm hungry for a corndog. Thanks much. (Mincot is here admiring your ketchup, too).
