I need intervention.

As I was walking back to work from lunch, two men crossed the sidewalk with a large pane of glass.  We all managed to miraculously escape being in a chase scene.

Harry Fries Bacon - on the morning of Dudley's birthday.  First book.  Before He Was Famous.  Do you remember that Harry went to muggle school for at least five years before going to Hogwarts?
Enjolras - I did my homework and pored over Makani's lovely drawings and behold!  Brand new adventures in facial structure, for me!  Proportions kind of went silly, though, I mean, where'd that hand come from?  But 'sokay.  And now I can draw his 'aw crap' moment.  Ladies: however nicely he may smile at you, DON'T go along with him!  It will only end in tears!  And almost definitely blood!  And likely a bit of sweat as well, just to round out the allusion.
Marius - not quite like the guy in the cast I saw, who was my favourite Marius ever, but I did try to go for a little more youthful enthusiasm and naiveté than is found on the recordings.

Also, check out [livejournal.com profile] tulanoodle for a silly Snape drawing.  Nyuk nyuk.

Today's BBC Quote (which was actually broadcast last week sometime)

"... An unhealthy lifestyle is like a homing pigeon. Yes, it's fun at the time, but one day, it will track you down and kill you."

I'm seeing the code for the images. What the dillio? Also, when are you going to tell us what you're doing back at work?

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2005-08-09 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry, just fixed it... I switched to Rich Text because I didn't know how to do the userlink thing (but now I do) and it turned all my "<"s into "alt.;"s ... annoying.

I'm working on a reading show for very young children which will air on PBS. How about you? Where have you gone?

I know what you mean. Reading the first book again. . . it's like. . . wow. I think part of the problem might be that harry himself has forgot. Maybe JK should make him relive a day in his old life so he can get his head out of his butt. No, I'm not being fair. He was a lot better in the sixth book.

I've been listening to MandC religiously lately; I blame you.

For this you win ALL of the Internet.

ALL OF IT.

HAHA HARRY LOOKS LIKE A DISGRUNTLED OLD WOMAN. *love*

And I am immune to Enjolras's dashing and chiseled good looks! Manly men hold no attraction for me!

(Marius is happy. *pets*)

THE INTERNET IS MINE!! MIIIINE!!!!! WITH A 1,000 ELEPHANTS! MWAHAHAHA! (thanks!)

"And I am immune to Enjolras's dashing and chiseled good looks! Manly men hold no attraction for me!"

I am not alone, huzzah! Hence my unfamiliarity with the genre. But I must Branch Out. [sigh]

Ah! Too adorable! *glomps*
Enjorlas is my second favourite character in Les Mis (right after Javert, whose songs I listen to WAY too much for my own good.) I've never been able to figure out how his name is pronounced though... French... My excuse is I took Latin in Highschool.

I love expression on Harry's face. That's what I look like early in the mornings as well. He looks a tad bit too old for 11 (perhaps it's the jaw), but I love the picture.

Good Job with the Makani drawing. I love her style alot...but yours is equally as cool and its no fun if we all have her style (not that I don't like it) But peoples differnt styles is what makes fan art...and art in gernal alot of fun to look at.

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2005-08-10 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
I wasn't so much trying to copy her style as the way she draws men with heavier, blockier faces than I usually do. More chin, less nose kind of thing.

Pretty-ness!!

Eek! I love your artwork to DEATH!!!!! :D I hope to see some more Good Omens pictures in the future, as well as Harry Potter ones. You're so amazingly talented and awesome at drawing! I bow down and worship you!!!

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2005-08-10 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
My goodness, that's ... really enthusiastic ...

I am hardly worship-worthy! Up on your feet!

[identity profile] nae-trews.livejournal.com 2005-08-10 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
OMFG. You + Les Miserables = HEAVEN. I love it when you do illustrations for musicals - it makes my day much better.

I adore the Harry cooking picture. His expression is love.

Hallo!

[identity profile] plaidmonkey42.livejournal.com 2005-08-10 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
I found you via your HP artwork site :D You've got a new fan ;p I too love to draw, and will be taking pics of Tucson, Arizona (and hopefully Las Vegas [never been!] which I'll be crossing over [and transferring flights] on my way home in a few weeks - AT NIGHT!) Your LJ has been the most interesting to follow since I've added you as a friend a few days ago - thanks for the good reads, neat photographs, and glances at your artwork!

[identity profile] lepitot.livejournal.com 2005-08-10 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I love the Harry frying bacon picture. I've tried to draw that for a long time, and could never get it right. I can't stop staring at it! Okay, enough babbling from me...

[identity profile] veronikamg.livejournal.com 2005-08-10 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Hooray! It's normal to find manly men unattractive! I always find skinny scrawny boys more charming than big musclehulks. They are usually not so full of themselves.

About jaws... I looked at your website, and I noticed that you older designs for HP charachters usually don't have the pointed chin they have nowadays. I guess it's appropriate for Harry though, as he's described as having a thin face.

I've been wondering about Harry's "muggle" years. We know a bit about what they were like, but at this point it's just so hard to imagine little Harry sitting in an ordinary classroom with maps on the walls and boxes of crayons, gluesticks and scissors on the shelves, having lessons in English and maths. But that has happened in his life.

*is dead* I had to stop lurking around just to say how much that BBC quote cracked me up. Stupids :D
Am I right in assuming this is BBC the channel (do you get it in America?)?

*says quietly so your head doesn't swell up* And of course, your HP art is amazing (came here by the website), and I have stuck around because you're intersting and cool; I mean, you like HP, M&C, GO and lots of other things that I haven't got round to doing/reading yet. What's not to like? :D

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
No, I listen to BBC Radio 4 at work, via the magic of the Inter-Net! We don't get the BBC in (ahemahem) Canada unless you get the great big sattelite package which comes with five hundred other channels I'd never watch. Sometimes the World Service TV news is on PBS (which is in the standard cable package) and sometimes it's on CBC Newsworld, but the broadcast times are unreliable.

hi...(c :>. i hope this gets here...hmm....Javert is the greatest! every time in the cd when they say his name...'and im Jav-ert!'(so...FRENCH...:D) i always say Marius and nieve & young, w/ a major overbite and straight....'john dearheart'-hair (i first thought the visor was his hair...). the best 'Javert's- the high school one, and the london one. no, im not english ;)!

[identity profile] ubiquitouspitt.livejournal.com 2005-08-15 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Hooray for more Harry! And the Enjolras picture is magnificent. Of course, I have my own vision of Marius... on a stake.

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2005-08-15 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh come now, he's not nearly as annoying as Cosette. 'A heart full of love,' puh-leez.

Okay, I amend my statement: he's almost as annoying as Cosette. But he has a little personality.
