Boxing Day

I was going to post a funny picture but the computer I'm on has an even more finnicky DVD player than my own, so I can't capture what I need. Alas. Considering the reputation of Boxing Day for post-Christmas-festivity consequences, I will post this instead:

Really it's a sort of inside joke between Ubiquitouspitt and I, but I was kind of proud of the idea. If you recognize the source material for this... well, we'll know we aren't alone in our ridiculous obsession, and you must be warned that it always ends in cats.

...

Yeah, I knew it, no one knows. Looks like it's the cats for us.

Like a little beacon... floating in the middle of an icy sea... hundreds of miles from commercial traffic lanes

Is the inside joke.

Flashing dimly. As the years pass, the incandescent glow begins to wane.

Will anyone ever know what we're on about?

Is anyone... out there..?

"Hello?
Is anyone out there?"
Comfortably Numb, Pink Floyd (a song by a band I hate)

So that's what became of Calamy's first command. I wonder if you'll see it from the plane...

Clever!

Gracious, I hope not. We'd probably veer into it. However, if I am going to 'go'... that'd be an interesting close to my biography.

An interesting close it would be, but if the plane went down at a shallow enough angle, and you survived (always a possibility) ... you'd have some 200-year-old barrels to cling onto. And no cannonballs! So hah!
