Going Musical
I think I have discovered the soundtrack for Going Postal.
Unfortunately it belongs to a movie already, and one that is fairly mainstream and stars Johnny Depp so it could never actually be used, but in the theatre of my mind I can watch Moist & Co cavort to the sneaky, playful, European strains of Chocolat.*
If you don't believe me, look up the track called 'Party Preparations' on iTunes or something and tell me that does not sound like Moist.
*Minus the Latin American-sounding bits, of course. They are delightful but they do not taste of cabbage.

I HAS A MAKING MONEY!!!!!
Moist has walked off with Drumknott's pencil. All is right with the world.

Larger pieces, and I'm thinking specifically here of the track on the Pirates 3 soundtrack that sounds like Once Upon a Time In The West are similar in flavour but not melody. That particular track was very obviously a gag.

But I happen to love all the HP themes that are named after birds (or partial birds): Hedwig's Theme, Fawks' Theme, Buckbeak's theme...
Anyhoo, yeah, I agree. Hedwig's Theme is prolly one of the least Williams piece he's done, especially considering when you listen to his 40 years of John Williams compendium, it all starts to sound alike after a while.
You Has Making Money, yay!
I did take a listen to "Party Preparations..." yes, that is quite appropriate.
I know the feeling when I hear a song and think that would sound so good in a movie version of a story I like, but then find out it is used in some movie where it does not even fit at all.
By the way, I know it does not fit the European feel of the Discworld and has one annoying 21st century reference, but I always think about "Going Postal" when I hear Train's "Calling All You Angels." and the part where Moist has his religious "vision" that shows him where the money is.

Drumknott and his pencils are just not meant to be...
Eugh, now I'm picturing Johnny Depp as Moist. ON THE OTHER HAND, from there it's a small step to Tim Burton and then to Corpse Bride, and I've always pictured the Ankh-Morporkians as wearing Victorian garb. Spike would like Victorian's tight bun.
*off on a tangent*
I'm spamming your posts. >< *shuts up*

I must draw Klepto moist! And extreme sneezing (only mentioned in passing but i have to wonder just what entails as an extreme sneeze. Sounds like something my brothers would do)
and would probably have a lot of Moist-ure involved.

I went halfway through, but I don't have enough spare change to buy the hardcover copy, and I can't stay in the bookstore forever. Also, the libraries are being recalcitrant.

Find several bookstores.
Libraries can be so uncooperative. I doubt the ones here have Wintersmith yet.
