I think everyone is thinking they're next ... here in Canada everyone's anxious about being on Bin Laden's 'list' and people are even saying we're the only one on there not to have been attacked yet, but I don't know how accurate that is.

nono we actually got a warning! Denmark and Italy is pointed out. If we dont take out troups out of Iraq we might be bombed!

Canada's warning was part of the list mentioned after Afghanistan was invaded. We aren't in on Iraq, but we've still got troops in Afghanistan ... more than ever, in fact, since we helped take over from the US and Britain when they had to pull their troops out to go to Iraq.

This is the "great" thing about terrorism - now everyone's afraid that they're next. The only thing to do is just get on with life, and show them we're unafraid.

Did you read what that Al-Qeada group said? It's quite creepy.

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2005-07-09 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup! Time to resurrect the spirit of the Blitz. (which was much worse... but at least they were playing 'fair.')

[identity profile] sparrowofjack.livejournal.com 2005-07-09 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess that depends on your definition of "fair". Why do they think that bombing/attacking their fellow countries is going to solve anything? If anything, itll just scare people and make the countries angry at them.

Terrorists confuse me.

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2005-07-09 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, at least when the Nazis bombed London, they used airplanes whose noisy approach allowed air raid sirens to be sounded and people to get to relatively safer places. As far as wars go, that's about as fair as you can get.

[identity profile] sparrowofjack.livejournal.com 2005-07-09 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Remind me to thank the Nazis the next time I see them. (rolls eyes)

Sorry. That was a little bitter. But I just dont like this at all. I mean, what gives people the right to make others live in fear?

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2005-07-09 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, nothing at all gives anyone that 'right,' and I hope no one thinks I'm backing up this atrocious behaviour, but unless someone masters precognition or short-term time travel, there is unlikely to be an 'imminent terrorist attack' siren.

[identity profile] romani-lily.livejournal.com 2005-07-09 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I know. We can attach all suspected terrorists with little collars with bells. So like when you try to find Piddles you know where he is in the garden, we can know when a terrorist is coming.

*gets shot sould frying looks*

Yeah, well. . . I know for a fact I'm not the only souless person here. ;)

Just trying to lighten the mood

[identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com 2005-07-09 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be amusing... but it would probably get a lot of people angrily upholding the whole 'innocent until proven guilty' thing.
