So tomorrow I hop in a flying metal tube AGAIN ... Here's hoping I get back in one piece by Tuesday. Or even at all. That'd be nice. Yay, survival. (You'd think survival instinct would prevent me from hurling myself down half a continent at 800 mph, but this is not the case...)

In the meantime, feast your eyes on heavily watermarked Hogfather photos!! Cor!

What, a traditional human skull wasn't good enough for them?

Yay! Hogfather! I didn't even know they were doing this. Oh, and it's Marc Warren too! Fantastic!
Good luck on your flight - I'm not a happy flyer either. I'm sure it'll be fine though. :)

x.

Once I'm on the plane it's fine, because there's nothing I can do about it. It's thinking about it beforehand and fighting every instinct telling me 'RUN AWAY!'

Ooh, Hogfather photos....

... I think that's a rare record for me, I like all the choices except the one they got for Ridcully. He may be different when he's in-motion and speaking, but right now he looks more pale and worried and less bearded than my own mental image of the Archchancellor.

(Actually he looks a lot like "Horace Worblehat", the wizard who was transformed into The Librarian, at least according to "The Art Of Discworld")...

He looks exactly like Horace Worblehat (funnily enough, the site I found this link on said the same thing). Personally, I think Mustrum Ridcully was written for Brian Blessed, but what can you do?

I dunno, I'm weary of this production. Looking at the photos, it just seems like a glorified stage play. The sets are kind of cheap looking, but maybe that is its charm? It would be nice if it was a feature and not a TV movie and if it had a Hollywood budget without a Hollywood director. Since Terry Pratchet is willing to get involved and actually be a character in the movie, I'm going go with his judgment and hope this film will be spectacular.

Yes, I too thought Blessed, but maybe he was busy being a Gungan or something :(

Well, it definitely looks very BBC . . .
What is with that skull? Takes me back to Anthropology class. Maybe they're trying to say that Death hasn't really changed since the first humans thought him up?
Actually, I think they're just trying to make him look more sinister . . . ironic.
Shouldn't Mr. Teatime be more cheerful?
Okay, okay, I'll stop :P Thanks for posting the link, though! Susan looks great.

I was wondering how long it would take you to write another "flying metal tube" entry. BTW, it is not 800 MPH, 'tis only about 600.

Beats me why people always try to make Death look evil – for an athropomorphic personification of a natural bilogical process (which ought to be neutral) he's quite an affable fellow, in his own way ... Maybe that's why Mr Kidby's is so popular, because with his upturned brows he looks more friendly, bemused, and in character.

Actually, the fact that I'm not as stressed out about this as I usually am is what's making me stressed – every time I've flown I've agonized about it for a week beforehand, and survived, so by not agonizing this time I am interfering with the nature of causality and who knows what might happen.

As an added incentive to make it home safely (besides, or course, LIVING) I'm going to make you gift art of ... well, whatever you want, and have it for you on Tuesday. :D

GASP!!! Really?? :D!

Well, I'll just have to, er ... get super powers and carry the plane through the air myself! (Though that may not be such a good idea, me klutz.)

This is a TV movie, correct? Well, I hope it eventually comes to video, because that's probably the only way I'll be able to see it.

Isn't Teatime creepy looking?

I like the actress playing Susan. She looks perfect for the role.

Hi! I use to follow your LJ and your HP drawings. I saw that you usually listen to "The Decemberists". I didn't know them (I'm from Europe, I've never heard of them) and I downloaded some songs just for curiosity. I liked them very much!!!!!So thanks for your involuntary suggestion!
