A few hours later ... I got ONE storyboard panel.

So ... I picked this scene because it was short ...

.... aaaand it's a crowd scene. (d'oh.)

I realised while designing this location that is was half operating theatre (based on this one from the very cool collection of old photos at the University of Wisconsin's page) and half the Hale Centre Theatre in Orem. I have justified this with the following: 1. Making it look like a theatrical theatre makes it more 'dramatic' in both a direct and an ironic way and 2. Brett Helquist might have gone there once!

It has been a long time since I read 'The Hostile Hospital', and your picture makes me wonder: If Klaus is standing right by the exit, with no opposition between him and that route of escape, why doesn't he turn and run instead of waving the knife around? I know he does run in the end, and he doesn't hurt anyone, but in your picture it looks like he could just take off right then. I guess I never had that scene real clear in my head; must re-read ...

It's not specifically stated that way; I just staged it like that for better readability, as putting some characters behind him would really clutter it up, and the 'stage' of an operating theatre is too small for a gurney surrounded by villains to build up enough speed, upon exit, to stop them from stopping it. Hal is nominally standing in the entrance to the operating theatre, having just delivered the news that the Library of Records is burning, and they do encounter him on the way out, but that's not in the scene I'm doing.

In other words ... I'm rationalizing my laziness. :)

Just randomly picking an entry to comment on.

A while ago you posted a drawing you had made of Pacha and the Llama (Emperor's New Groove) in a Santa and Reindeer outfit. I really liked that drawing, it was hilarious. Especially the look on the Llama's face.
Anyway. In that same post you mentioned an assignment you've been given by another LJ user, and it gave me an idea.

In February, it's Carnaval. In case you don't know, it's four days of partying before Lent starts, and is basically everybody dressing up in all sorts of costumes who will then spend their time getting drunk and dancing to funny music and generally having fun.

Now, having seen that one drawing, I immediately wondered how other (Disney/Discworld/Tolkien/HP/whatever) characters would look like, if they came to Europe to celebrate Carnaval. How would they dress up? As fairies, as cows, as pirates, as monks?

Consider it an assignment, consider it a request, but please let me know if it's something you'd like to do. :)
