Pratchetty Updates
May. 23rd, 2006 02:17 pmGot half an hour? The first episode of Mort is up on BBC7. (requires RealPlayer) It works till Saturday; sorry for the late notice. It's an okay rendition, though I have never heard a proper explanation for why no one can do Death's voice right.*
In other news, they've got the cast list for Hogfather up at Paul Kidby's news site. I have high hopes for Ian Richardson's sepulchral Hogfather, even though I've only ever really seen him in one thing. [insert shame here] Everyone else I just don't know at all. [further shame] I'd have liked to see Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as Teatime, but what can you do? Though, come to think of it, I've only seen him in one thing too ... same thing as Ian Richardson, oddly enough. Thank you, Gormenghast, for introducing me to the wonderful world of British casting.
*By 'right' of course I mean, broadly, 'as it is described in the books' or, specifically, 'like I hear it in my head.' Just hike up the bass, darken the tone colour, throw in a sprinkling of reverb ... is it that hard?
