I Say, What's This?
Mar. 17th, 2007 03:01 pmA new Holmes Movie?
Initially the whole 'reimagined' and 'adventuresome' thing put me off, but then I remembered: The reason I didn't bother pursuing the Holmes series when I was young is because I thought he just sat around smoking his pipe hand having no discernible personality until he'd say 'My dear Watson, I have figured it out!' Watson would reply 'Goodness, Holmes, you're brilliant!' then the famous 'Elementary, my dear Watson', end of story. It was only upon hearing a couple of radio plays and then reading further stories on my own that I discovered Sherlock does all sorts of interesting things (aside from generally being a LOONY) and there are many exciting episodes in the text, most notably the boat chase in The Sign of the Four which would be very cool in a movie.
We shall see.
I don't suppose they could persuade Christopher Nolan to direct...
