Othello Sketchdump

I was desperate for some drama and, without recourse to the iPlayer, had to make do with what was on my iPod, which was Othello. ..... Listened to it five times in three days and spent every available moment scribbling things down. And it wasn't even my favourite recording – I got it solely for Lenny Henry, who is a BOSS, but I much prefer the supporting cast in the Arkangel recording; someday I want to try splicing Mr Henry into that cast to make my perfect Frankenthello.

I've forced myself to stop listening until the Arkangel one comes in the mail, but there'll probably be another batch of drawings when it does.

In other news, let me introduce you to my new favourite pencils!

I've been mindbogglingly busy outside of work, and now that's cleared up, work is about to take its place. I'll try to update on further adventures but it might have to wait for Thanksgiving weekend ...

Marvel Movie Mayhem

All right, it's Saturday night, I've got a glass of wine and no homework, let's see what we can do about some movie reviews two weeks after the fact.

I went up to my sister's for a weekend, which we kicked off with Thor 2: The Dark World and followed up with Captain America (which I had not yet seen) and Megamind (which she had not yet seen), chased down with Avengers because the trailer was on Captain America and we were reminded how great that movie was and how much we wanted to watch the Blu-Ray which was conveniently right at hand. Thanks for the suggestion, Marketing Department!

Avengers I've already reviewed and Megamind ... ahhh Megamind ... someday I will do a comprehensive list of What I Love About Megamind (or, The Love That [at Disney] Dare Not Speak Its Name) but it's my bedtime, so not tonight.
