I didn't write, here, about how the BBC shot a segment for The One Show about my graphic novel project. The One Show is a sort of primetime entertainment magazine show on the main BBC TV channel, with roughly equal doses of celebrities and ordinary people doing entertaining things. Sunday morning, UK time, the BBC put the segment on their main news site ... and my day exploded. In a good way. Lots and lots of emails, including two descendants I had not yet made contact with, a huge surge in new subscribers on Patreon (such a relief!), and many many downloads of the sample PDFs on Gumroad. Just goes to show the value of wearing funny clothes in a far-flung town when a bored BBC journalist is looking for stories. Thank you, Justin.

When I knew the segment was queued to air, I braced myself for a barrage of emails from confident middle-aged men who had read The Last Place on Earth and therefore wished to educate me on a subject they knew completely. To my great surprise, I have only received one! And he claimed that the film footage of dogs was 'wrong' and that Scott 'only' took ponies, so he may represent the expected and otherwise unrepresented quadrant of slightly unhinged conspiracy theorists as well. All in all a most surprising balance to the response.
