A reading from the Gospel according to the GOP:
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." And Jesus said to her, "Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? Either the family has failed to provide adequately for the number of guests, or the guests have been too free with the wine and drunk it too quickly. We are not beholden for the mistakes of others, nor should we enable wantonness. The guests do not need alcohol to have a good time, and a little sobriety will not hurt anyone. This will teach them next time to exercise a little self-control and not drink all the wine in the first few hours."
