In unrelated radio news, BBC7 is re-broadcasting their fantastic reading of Day of the Triffids, precursor to such collapse-of-civilization stories as 28 Days Later* and Children of Men. The fact it features homicidal plants is really of little consequence, and is vastly less stupid than the 50s B-movie it sounds like. Episode 1 - Episode 2 - Episode 3 - Episode 4There are 17 episodes in total and no way am I going to remember them all, so if you like what you hear, call up the BBC7 iPlayer and have a listen for yourself. *which I haven't seen but which my sister assures me is structurally identical, only with zombies instead of plants

Call me out of touch, but what's the "Rowling Feud"?

People (the media? rabid HP fans? the internet?) seem to desperately want there to be a battle between Pratchett and Rowling. This thing sums up the background to the inferred feud: http://www.cinemablend.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-20191.html

Ever since then it seems interviewers on both sides try to stoke the fires of something that may or may not exist but is certainly not as ferocious as certain people want it to be.
