I try to avoid making whole posts out of embedded YouTube videos, but for all its lack of subtlety I really like this song:

(Even if my memory stubbornly insists it's 'abducting the birds...')

Lack of subtlety? I once more suspect that I am really quite obtuse, but what on earth in the song talking about?

Bah. I really am quite obtuse I thought you meant the song was lacking subtlety, when on about the fifth read-thru I think that you meant that the the posting of a Youtube video alone was unsubtle.

No, it ... ok, maybe it's a bit more obscurely coded than I thought. Or maybe I'm overlaying an interpretation on it that isn't necessarily what it means. I've never been any good at interpreting poetry. But the verses are, in my opinion at least, a rather transparent symbology of the political situation in the States over the last five years or so. At least from a Canadian perspective.

I seems I had the right answer the first time, and as I am wont to one multiple choice tests, second guessed my answered with the totally wrong one. Am slightly sad now.

I'm a fair ace in understanding poetry (It apparently made up for my bad grammar and my lousy prose abilities, with my college Lit professors. Enough for me to get a very good A in those courses), but this has me slightly befuddled. To me at any rate, it falls on the "American Pie" side of inscrutable. Are we Americans the crazy girl conducting the the birds or is that Canadians all being wonderful and weird in spite of America? Whatever is going on in that song?

Um, hi! Not wanting to just add you to my f'list without saying anything, I'll just mention I got here via your Harry Potter art (which I like) and thought I'd watch your blog as well. If you don't mind.
