What has happened to Canada?

In the six years I’ve been out of Canada I’ve seen so much crazy crap happening across the border, I frequently find myself wondering what the hell is going on up there?, wanting to go back and fix it and feeling powerless to do anything. I was an expat, but now feel like an exile, in that the country I belong to is beginning not to exist anymore – there is no going home. It’s distressing and disappointing to see the land I love changing so quickly and abandoning the values I thought it stood for, and with which I identify, so completely.

Someone else has noticed this, and worded it much better than I have. I reposted the audio to Tumblr because the CBC is giving me grief about my Flash player and others might be having the same problem, but it comes from the CBC's stellar culture magazine Q. Amen, Mr Campbell, preach it hard, and let’s get this thing back on track!
