My understanding is that the hospitals *are* going to look quiet; this isn't a health disaster of wailing crowds and splashing blood, but of people quietly struggling to breathe. Most of the hospitals have shut down so many other functions that they lack the hustle&bustle that would typify a "normal" day.
It has been far easier to hear birdsong in my city also. The robins and redwing blackbirds are having a field day.
