It was a little less than fifty years old, so Voldemort would be out of school. My sister has the book right now, so I can't look it up, but I think that did occur to Hermione. (They mention the age at one of the points that Hermione starts complaining, and Ginny stands up for Harry, I think) I still think that that dating was a bit unfair.
