Sometimes searching for photo reference online is like trying to hack through a forest of thorns with a spoon – other times you land something completely unexpected and wildly exceeding your most irrational dreams.

HOLY COW SOLDIER REFERENCE!!

Thank goodness for those little patches the History Monks put in time, that make people reenact wars of the past and bring their cameras.

Wow - what amazing uniforms, as well as weapons, vehicles, horses, etc. - more to look at than you'd ever have time to see! (well, for the average human, anyway) At least as interesting (and highly entertaining) to me was seeing how differently the people filled out the same sorts of uniforms - in some of the photos, not only a huge variety of different body types and grooming styles (moustaches, etc.), but their very different personlities really came across - I'd love to spend a week just making up stories for some of those characters!
