tealinThursday's Sketchbook - This is what yesterday's character is supposed to look like.
Watched War of the Worlds last night ... Most of it went like this:
ME: But dude, what about _____?
SPIELBERG: Hey, man, I have totally got that covered.
I would have liked to know more about the blood root things, which as far as I could tell were creepy but pointless. And ... were the tripod thingies alive, or machines? 'Cause if they were machines, how would they be affected by pathogens? Also: crows rule.

Date: 2006-03-12 04:20 am (UTC)Personally, I was happy to see the red weed in this movie, since it was cut out of the movie version that was made back in the fifties.
I think a lot of what was happening doesn't get entirely explained--in the book or the movie--because one of the points of the story is that the characters, and therefore the audience, never really know what's going on.
