I've updated my Discworld page ... most new drawings are in the 2006 section, but there are a couple back in 2005, including one I don't think I'd posted in here of Lord deWorde. Yay, update.

Oh, and for all those people who were so inexplicably jubilant at my drawing Lupin a couple weeks ago, I thought I'd provide a link to my Lupin page because it seems as though they hadn't seen the plethora of pre-existing Lupin drawings, mostly better than what I drew that day.

I don't think I've ever seen your Vimes before -- I approve. :D Richard Dean Anderson is an interesting and appropriate choice (more so than Bruce Willis, anyway :D).

Wow... great stuff! :) A couple of bad links though:

Polly - leads to "wazzer27jan2"

Shufti's face - leads to "strappi"

Cpl Strappi - leads to "mr-pollyonionssm"

I hadn't seen most of your work before, so this was very, very neat to have it all in one place. :) Now I'll poke around the rest of the site!

I just adore the 'Maladict Goes to Ground.' It makes me giggle because it's one of my favorite parts of the book.

Lupin in anything is priceless. :D And I'd so join those picketers/protesting people/what have you.

For some reason your version of Lupin reminds me of... Neil Gaiman. O_O Who is, admittedly, rather Lupinesque. To me, at least.

*squee* I somehow knew Lupin was your favourite!

BTW, I think that picture of him fending off the dementors with the fireball would look awesomw in colour. You know, just in case you had much spare time ten years from now and really missed Lupy...

I had not seen a lot of these before - awesomeawesomeawesome - so much to praise, but I must get to work! So I'll limit myself to one - no, two - for now: loved both those "Dark Dwarf" drawings (really nice color)!

2006 is just a section on the page ... there's only one page. Its' the first section. If you scroll down you will see 2005, 2004, and before.

If you've been there before . . .

Thanks for updating! This was FUN to read!

I did not realize you had done so many "Monstrous Regiment" illos, or "Thud!" pictures! They are great!

Your Brutha in the desert looked so sad.

Looking forward to seeing more.

I love your Discworld drawings. All of them. Of course, I now understand some of the ones I had seen you post earlier (2003, 2004) because I've started getting more and more into the series. I've caved and started with the first book, just because I feel like I need the balance. Although, I really do want to start reading Good Omens and possibly finish reading Going Postal first. Your drawings shall have to tide me over.

The one of the young Lord Vetinari and camouflage roxers my boxers. He reminds me of a young, more hygienically aware Snape.

So much time and so little to read! Wait...strike that. Reverse it. Okay, carry on! ^_^

You know I love your Lupin, right? As a matter of fact I will be moving back in history to fangirl your latest pictures of him in a moment, but N-E-WAYZ (oh that crazy Internet lingo, I say!) Picket line picture = fantabulous (WHAT A MIX!)

AHHH you make my inner Discworld fangirl scream in an obnoxiously high-pitched voice. I don't think I could have even imagined a better Blouse; Wazzer's big eyes make me giggle a little bit; the shaded Jackrum + campfire sends tingles down my spine; I love Maladict period; Strappi does look a lot like the creepy cafe guy from Amelie; you win my heart forEVZ for the Animaniacs reference; Thalacephalos looks so put-upon, it's hilarious xD; that Johnny is such a rascal!; Mr Grey Soldier makes my face go D:; that line-up is going to be SWEEEEEEEEEEEET.

THE DARK DWARVES THEY ARE THE BEST, especially that sweet, sweet colored one!

AHAHAHA LEFT-HANDED OM IS THE BEST THING EVER NO JOKE AT ALLLLLLLLLL

(Iger the Tiger = sheer brilliance)

OKAY TOO LONG COMMENT ENDS NOW

I was looking through your Discworld page and was quite dismayed to find no pictures of Rincewind or DEATH! Those books, along with Commander Vimes are definitely my favorites--probably Rincewind at the top, though. He's so wonderfully pathetic and unheroic. I liked your Susan Sto-Helit. It reminded me of Paul Kidby, but not quite and it also wasn't the design for the animated "Soul Music." I'm not a particular fan of Paul Kidby's Susan, to be perfectly honest. Maybe I didn't read it carefully enough, but I don't remember any mention of a black and white afro. I was kind of hoping to see War aka Red from "Good Omens" as he/she appears near the end with the bullet teeth, but I liked the angular qualities of your design. Very evil looking woman, her. I was just talking to Mark and he mentioned that you were perhaps interested in Garth Nix but you didn't know what he had written. He hasn't written a ton, but an appreciable amount. I would strongly recommend his "Keys to the Kingdom" series, the rest of the "Abhorsen" books including "Across the Wall" if you haven't already read them and "Shade's Children." The "Seventh Tower" series is okay, but I think the influence that Lucasbooks had on the basic structure of the plot negatively impacted the quality of the writing. It also seems to be written down a little bit--to my knowledge it's the only intentionally juvenile book he's written. Well, that should be more than sufficient for now.

I should clarify that Twirlynoodle had mentioned that she didn't know that much about what Nix had written (particularly the Keys to the Kingdom series) aside from Sabriel - for all I know she may be fully aware of his other titles, at least. Or not? Well, thanks to you, she is now, at any rate.

Well, I guess we'll find out if and when she responds to this. Telling her about the books might be tricky, especially for the Keys to the Kingdom books. My knee-jerk reaction is to compare it to Harry Potter or something, but I don't think there are very many books I can compare it to. Well, we'll just have to wait and see, neh?
