Status Update

Hello Internet!

Yes, I have been away for far too long, with no very good reason, or at least not one I could figure out beyond "meh, don' wanna." Alas, this absence must persist yet a little longer, though for a much better reason:

I AM MOVING.

Again.

By myself this time!*

So for the next couple weeks (at least) I probably will be just as invisible as I have been lately, because I'll be putting things in boxes, dismantling furniture (I love you, Ikea), taking things out of boxes, er... mantling furniture, and all in all turning my life completely upside down. And then right side up again. And then it'll snow for about thirty seconds in a staggeringly unimpressive display of water and little plastic flakes.

If all works out, there may actually be drawings here again.

*Well, okay, no, people are helping me move, but I am moving into an apartment of my own.

I remember how liberating it was to be on my own finally with an apartment. (And I was able to get cats, too!) Since I am one of those evil people who likes cleaning the house regularly and paying bills on time I was not very popular with my roommates :-) Will your cat be coming with you, too?

No, my cat's staying back at the homestead where he's got friends and a nemesis to keep up relations with. That's OK, I'll still visit.

I like to live in a tidy house (excepting my room) and pay bills on time, which is why it was driving me crazy to be living with my roommates ... who don't. Well, they have intentions to, but rarely actually do anything. Grr.

Er ... I rather suspect he'd just pee on everything in a fit of mad frustration at being penned in such a small space with nothing to do all day. He can stay where he is.

Yup, I am SO WITH you on that experience of having to keep after roommates to pay bills and clean up. Plus I had the added joys of my roommates inviting boyfriends over who became freeloading live in boyfriends... and all their parties on weeknights after a late night for me at work and marijuana and just- YUK! It was like being born again living on my own even though I had to
really watch my spending. The freedom was worth it!

I am sure you will also find it great to be on your own and keep things the way you want to keep them!
Some people worry that living alone makes someone a hermit, but I never found that happened. Anyway, have fun and enjoy the new place!
