Sorry I haven't been assiduous enough with posting these links, but Episode 4 (and last) of MORT is up.

On top of that, a feature-length adaptation of The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents! (It's got David Tennant in it.)

And next week, they start a series of Guards! Guards! in Mort's slot!

WILL IT EVER END?! (I hope not...)

Yes, indeed your assiduosity has been lacking. For shame.

Guards, eh? THIS I shall have to listen to.

at your suggestion, i listened to mort, and greatly enjoyed it, but when i was reading the amazon.com review of guards! guards! it seemed almost boring . . . is it?

Boring?! Who said it was boring? That person has a very odd sense of boring. Okay, it's slightly less entertaining than, say, Night Watch, but hardly boring.

I listened to the last part of Mort today at work.

Is it just me, or did they abridge some of the text?

I will try to catch Guards! Guards! as it comes out. But first, I will need go and finish reading it! (I'm almost done.)

Well, they fit a whole novel into a radio play that's just shy of two hours; some stuff had to get the chop. I thought it was a pretty good adaptation, myself; there wasn't anything cut out that was really essential to the story and they managed to keep most of the good scenes in.

Yeah, I was in Taiwan when it all began. Too bad. If anyone knows of a permanent link with really crappy sound quality, that would be swell! Otherwise I guess I'll just have to wait for the time to read the book.

Guards! Guards! exclamation mark

Haven't heard it on the radio before, despite my BBC7 addiction. I heard a bit of Maurice, mainly for the lovely Mr Tennant, but his Mickey Mouse-ified voice put me off.

They should do the later ones on the radio, I only ever early Discworld books or the children's ones. And they should play Harry Potter as well, but that's another matter entirely...

Hahah, Mr Tennant sounded a little like Andy Hamilton in his normal self ... not as snarky, though. He even has an identifiable tone when he's playing the kazoo.

They had that Christmas Potter-a-thon, didn't they?

Andy Hamilton is a genius, I recently caught Old Harry's Game on BBC7 and love it. I can't say I noticed the similarity between him and David Tennant, but I was probably too busy ogling him.

David Tennant, that is.

Yeah, it was a few years back, all day on Radio 4. JKR didn't want it to be abridged. So, if they were to do Order of the Phoenix, half an hour a day, it would take 48 days. Which is probably why it doesn't turn up on the radio.

Do you mind if I friend you?

Are we going to see some Mort related artwork in the future? (hopefully! Particularly of Cutwell, I seem to have a soft spot for him)

Oddly enough, I just drew some Mort stuff last night at life drawing (I paid that much attention) and was planning to scan it tonight. No Cutwell, though ... I always used to picture him very much like how I drew Mr Horsefry, but since hearing the rendition in the radio play he looks like Stephen Fry.

(He wasn't actually played by Stephen Fry, he was played more as him... He just had that ... tone. And it worked.)

Terry Pratchett radio plays? How have I missed this until now?! And my stupid school firewall won't let me connect to the BBC media players. :( And it's got the Doctor in it!
*shifty eyes* Do you know of somewhere I can download them from?
