I'm once again trawling the depth of the My Pictures folder to see if there's anything of value I haven't posted... Here's my attempt at rectifying an unfortunate oversight by Hollywood, as mentioned in The Vile Village.

I'm no good at romantic leads...

How about "Twister." Bill Paxton was enamoured with tornado(e)s.

Aha, but that was not a romantic comedy. I believe you'll find that film listed under 'action.'

I think it almost worked better as a comedy, though (with supposed romantic elements) - at least I had a hard time taking it seriously! ;)

Coming soon, from Touchstone Pictures…

Meet Mike Danworth. He’s just an average guy, with an average life, and he never realized just what he was missing, until one day, someone special blew into his life, like a breath of not-so fresh air....

Meet the haboob. A haboob is a type of intense sand storm commonly observed in the Sahara desert (typically Sudan). African haboobs result from the northward summer shift of the intertropical front into North Africa, bringing moisture from the Gulf of Guinea. Across north Africa and the near East, there are many regional names for this unique sand storm. (Wikipedia).

Yes, a very unique sand storm… searching for someone to love.

This summer, the film that makes “Gone With The Wind” look like a breeze! HABOOBIES, starring Matt Damon and several thousand tons of high-velocity dust.

Haboob: Oh Mike... are you crying?
Mike: No... no honey.. it's just... all this grit in my eyes... (whimper)

It seems like there have been a few notable windbags up on the screen - does that count? Or how about leads that displayed about the same charisma and/or intellectual prowess as a huge cloud of dust? I might consider "The Lake House", starring Keanu Reeves, a romantic comedy - at least I was laughing!
