Saw it tonight ...

I think I've seen enough people die for one day.

My mum went to see that a while ago.

Yeah, it came out there back in the summer, didn't it? Or ... a while ago anyway. I remember them talking about it on Front Row. This was its opening weekend here.

Yeah, summer. I didn't go to see it; it sounded depressing.

You are correct!

But really, those were the best deaths I've ever seen.

Children of Men = A+

Most realistic and least glamourized, yes ... satsfying and entertaining, no. Depends what 'best' means.

I heard it wasn't that good, contrary to the critic's reviews.

I don't know what 'they' (who say it wasn't good) were expecting to see, but as far as an apocalyptic movie goes, it was bleak in a frighteningly realistic way. It wasn't a roller-coaster ride of thrills and chills, or a shoot-em-up action movie, or some sort of over-the-top futuristic melodrama, but it was very well written, very well-acted, and ... well, good. In that way. So good that I can't imagine buying it on DVD and watching it over and over. That might be a different kind of 'good' than people would hope for, but it is certainly successful at what it tries to do.

I saw it tonight.
The ending bugged me, wtf?

What's confusing about the ending? Seemed pretty straightforward to me.

I'm going to recommend it to any of my friends... I know it's something i'll want to see again someday.
I enjoyed the way it defied convention, not by a great deal, or just for the sake of being different. But enough to make it seem unlike anything i've seen. It also carried a mood very well throughout.

Um...hi.

My friend Adam and I almost saw this movie Saturday night. The next showing was a little late (and I really didn't know what it was about), and we didn't feel like killing time anymore than we already did, so we ended up watching Happy Feet, which I enjoyed.

I've heard that's very good. Haven't managed to catch it yet, though... sigh.

Yes it is. It's a good 'feel good' movie. Really good animation too. Some parts I caught myself thinking 'Whoa. How'd they do that?'.

I saw it! I expected it to be the best movie ever (been pumped for months!!!) but because of that, it wasn't what I expected. It was still a really, really, awesome movie but not in the way I wanted it to be awesome. Let's all give 'em a hand for those thirty-minute continuous shots, eh?
