I promise this will be the last Herbert West picture for a while (unless the tow-headed little fiend hijacks my mind again); I'm getting a little zombied out for now. This image came into my head the last time through the readings, though, and I couldn't resist. It turned out okay, I suppose, for having started life as an oversized thumbnail that I got carried away with. It's not textually accurate and I cheat the light a lot but I hope it's good enough that this can be ignored.

This is what lunch hours are for.

The perspective and composition are excellent, but what really makes this picture is the fuzzy slippers. XD

I leave the research in your capable hands. Do post the results! And if they are negative, well ... perhaps Mr Narrator invented them for himself when avoiding the macabre hobbies of his roommate and just used them around the house for years without telling anyone, like that guy who invented post-its or band-aids or whatever.

One - I think I read that story for the Intro to Sci-Fi and Fantasy course I took at Queens (Yes, affluent mothers and fathers of Charlotte. This is the private college you send your offspring to. This is what you are paying for. These are the courses that shape the future leadership of America - oh, and me.)

Two - you have the soundtrack..? Do you really?

One: Classes like that make me want to go to college. Brainy academical college anyway. Not li'l ol' trade school wot gave me my mad skillz. (Three! THREE dialects in one sentence! Ah ah ah ah ah!!)

Two: Yeeeessss. |: )
Unfortunately it doesn't have that heart-wrenchingly melancholy violin theme (dunno why, as it's probably the second or third most prevalent theme in the score) but it's better than nothing. (The Fellowship soundtrack only had one instance of the Ring theme despite it being plastered all over the movie, go fig.)

Great job of shading, Tealin! It really heightens the drama of the dynamic composition. Of course, I probably would have done something cartoonish, like make the bulletholes white, or at least lighter (as if he would actually shoot all the way through!), just so they'd read, but that's why I'm stuck doing storyboards, rather than actual production artwork ;)
As much as I like this, it would be fun to also see the more "texturally accurate" (really grotesque) version of the big guy on all fours with a child's arm sticking out of his mouth >:)
Sorry I'm way behind on your journal again; I'll try to catch up on my commenting (like you need it, but it's the principle!)

Aside from the obvious, I have no idea what's happening in this picture.

However, the perspective, composition (typed 'compost' there for a second) and fluffy slippers are all fantastic.
