I don't think I've drawn any Redwall art since 1998... not successfully, anyway. But inspired by this audio book, I've taken a stab at a few things...

I am an afficionado of all things corvid (meaning I like crows and such) so this book provides me ample opportunity to play... this is a surprisingly halfhearted attempt at General Ironbeak.

Another halfhearted attempt at Slagar ... I was kind of afraid of these drawings and I think it shows. Plus I was runing into the corner of the page here -- so I had fear of the drawing and fear of running out of room, both bad things.

This one turned out surprisingly well, even though it's not quite as cool, or clear, as what I had in my head. This is when Matthias opens an air hole in the cave... I don't want to say more than that because I know most people reading this have not read the book.

Oh, I love the third one. The shading and light effects are really beautiful.

The Matthais drawing turned out gorgeous. I'll have to re-read Brian Jacques again sometime. Haven't touched them since 8th grade. :P

I LOVE Redwall, I hardly ever see any decent art of it--that scene with Matthias is one of my favourites--Brain Jaques described the sensation of fresh air so perfectly, and you captured it very well indeed! Excellent work!

AWESOME
