Stephen Briggs does Death right! He's just laconic enough without being completely deadpan and he has the perfect pace to the syllables. If only he wasn't a tenor, I could try adding a smidge of reverb and see if it sounded just like what's in my head. I suppose I could try just artificially lowering the pitch; that might also give it the smoothness of tone that natural basses generally don't have....

Yay, distractions. Just had to post that before I forgot.

First and possibly only, it's not the most repliable post... Thanks for the agreement, at least. :)

This is occasion for me to say thanks, because since I saw everybody talking about Terry Pratchett, I have started reading his books. And they're brilliant.
Death is definitly my favorite caracter, and the funny thing for french ears, is that he's a man, when it's "la Mort".

Tealin, I can't wait to read more of the Discworld books, just to look at your drawing ! :)

I do believe this is the first time I have ever seen the phrase "death ftw." Which is actually surprising, considering... the internet.

I've been meaning to get some Discworld audio goodness from the library for a long time, might be best to wait after exams though. Have you heard any of the Harry Potter books read by the legendary Stephen Fry?

I have Azkaban but I have to admit I haven't listened to the whole thing yet. It's pretty good, what I've heard so far, but it was kind of hard to get past Stephen Fry reading a book aloud in my living room. ;) What's important is that he's roughly FIVE MILLION times better than Jim Dale.

Maybe there's a mysterious link between being called Stephen and being an awesome voice actor....
