All right, folks, photos from the Irish leg of the journey are now up, with captions and maps* and everything.

Behold, Ye Emerald Isle!

*some places I could pinpoint with extreme accuracy, others are a sort of hazy guess.

Nice pictures! Looks like the only place that you went that I have also been to is the Rock of Cashel... But I wanted to go to Newgrange. Our tour didn't go there, alas, and there wasn't enough time to jaunt over there and then get down to Dun Laoghaire the next morning in time for the ferry.

Here (http://brendanm720.livejournal.com/97805.html#cutid1) are a few pics from Cashel from my trip.

Your pictures are just incredible!!! My mom is all Irish (lots of curly red hair), but I've never been there myself. I am JEALOUS! You make me want to move there more than ever!

When I show my mom your pictures, she's gonna be on the computer for HOURS ^_^

Wow, Ireland looks very Irish and green and romantic in your pics... when I was there, mainly it was freezing and expensive. And freezing. The pictures I have are mainly of the insides of pubs, but I guess you can't get much more Irish than that.

Sorry we missed each other when you were in London.. I was in Canada! You'll just have to come back, I'm afraid!

We didn't go to Dublin – my parents were full of stories about how grossly expensive Dublin was last time they went; I'm assuming the countryside is much more reasonable. Much less expensive than London! It was pretty chilly when we were there too, after what was an apparently hot and dry May, but you know that because it's been the same in England.

It's a beautiful, beautiful place, Ireland.
I've been to that same standing stone with the money stuffed in it; my family biked around Dingle Peninsula, and I left an American nickel in it. :)

How long does it take to bike Dingle? I think I'd like to do that next time. Or is it too terrifying on the narrow highways?

I've been in Ireland all this week. Skellig Michael is well worth a visit (the boats leave from Portmagee), but you have to be prepared for a very long, very vertiginous climb with uneven steps and no handrails. And it kind of smells like the penguin enclosure.

I would have loved to do Skellig Michael (and Great Blasket, for that matter) but we only had one day for Dingle and barely got back to Tralee before dark as it was. It was cool seeing it looking very fantastical across the misty water, though. Please share your pictures!

I actually only took one up at the monastery (of a seagull) but I did take quite a lot of pictures of the island itself. I'll give you the links once I've put 'em up on Photobucket - I'm a little strapped for time today.

There are an awful lot of photos in there and most of them are of rocks, but some have water and grass in them as well.
I don't make them sound very interesting, do I? The Skelligs photos start about halfway down.
