CHAPTER 11
Lupin isn't acting like himself ... wait. He hasn't acted like 'himself' since the third book, so considering relative time and page spans, perhaps this is now 'himself' and 3rd Book Lupin is actually the out-of-character one. Anyway, that said, did anyone consider Lupin might be a traitor? I mean, he'd be the one you least suspect, right? (Except maybe Mr Weasley...)

David Yates: Please direct this movie.

'Mould-on-the-Wold' ... can't help thinking of Simon Schama's 'Little Mucking-on-the-Wold.' That Wold sure has some interesting towns along it.

Has Mundungus appeared in the movies yet? Because I think he should be played by Andy Serkis.

CHAPTER 12
If Hermione knows anything about Occlumency and is so intent on Harry learning it, why doesn't she teach him?

Regarding Harry's wand's behaviour in seemingly acting for itself, could it be because of Fawkes' feather having some sort of Dumblyness to it ... or ... something? I mean, there's some sort of Fawkes-Dumbledore-Harry chain thing going on.

It takes that long to realize Umbridge's office is on that floor? He really does need a helping hat.

Harry knows he can't conjure a Patronus while in disguise as whats-his-name because it would give him away. Well, that was unusually bright of you, Harry...

Hermione duplicates the locket – don't tell me she takes the wrong one!

CHAPTER 14
Something about a little heart beating away in Voldemort's locket reminds me a lot of Davy Jones.

I'm reasonably certain the 'merry-faced thief' is whoever was in that photo with Dumbledore earlier but ... darn it ... all I can see is Carcer. On the other hand I would like him to be played by Dominic Monaghan, which is not who I see for Carcer, though the wording of the description probably has a lot to do with that...

CHAPTER 15
Hermione leaves money under the chicken coop just like Angua does. Perhaps that gigantic annoying plot hole in the movie adaptation of the third book which makes Hermione a werewolf isn't a mistake but is actually TRUE and ... no, probably not.

I believe I can reasonably deduce what JKR's outline notes look like for the following scene:
- H, Hr & R camp in Wales
need to establish good guys' situation, sword story, HOW???
- find copy of Quibbler floating down river
- random side character's Patronus (Bill's?) delivers message
- words in the sky?
– too long
- Dean, Griphook & other folks turn up
deliver VERY CONVENIENT EXPOSITORY DIALOGUE
leave
- H Hr & R discuss

We've established that Dumbledore did something with the sword, and we've established the expando-inside charm. Okay, did you ever think ... that maybe ... the real sword is HIDDEN INSIDE THE SNITCH??!? (and .. um ... Dumbledore mentioned it separately in his will to throw off the Ministry?) COME ON! Just stick it in your mouth already!

CHAPTER 16
Mom, dad, and little baby at Christmas time ... hmmmmm ... where have I seen this before ...

Dates! Actual concrete dates! Well! This ... solves almost nothing. But it's something.

CHAPTER 17
Two illustration notes for this one, one of which is actually a line drawing that I might finish before heading back home ... everything else so far has appeared as a full-colour scene in my head which will take more work, a better scanner, and a computer with a tablet.

And HOLY CRAP ACTION SEQUENCE. Yikes.

CHAPTER 18
Perhaps 'for the greater good' was an attempt to stop the Muggles all killing each other in WWII which, if I interpreted the clues did my math correctly, would have been roaring along at the time that letter was written. Grasping at straws, but who knows? Also the fact that it's in all caps is suspicious, perhaps it's a coded message or means something else entirely.

CHAPTER 19
Okay, I kind of misread the bit where Harry opens the locket and there are eyes inside, so it sounded like they started out as normal human-looking eyes and then became all red and scary with a slit down the middle and I thought ... hmm ... THAT'S a little obvious. All you need is flames. But no, it was just mostly obvious.

I thought Ron had brown eyes, not blue? Where am I getting this from?

Who the bloody heck PUT the sword there? Who would randomly drop it in some weird pool in the great big Forest of Dean in the hope that the Trio would just randomly apparate there? Bwah? Am I missing something? I can understand being at a loss to establish important information about what's going on outside the trio's sphere of awareness, but this is just too convenient.

CHAPTER 20
Three youths are followed around by an insignia of an EYE.

CHAPTER 21
'And Death spoke to them ...' I do hope it was in all caps. I was almost looking forward to that, but alas no written dialogue in that story...

And this is how the books ends abruptly in Chapter 15... ;)

I second the "buh?" I can see how Sirius would be a werewolf in the movie version - wolf!Lupin bit dog!Sirius - but not Hermione.

Being an animagus may have afforded Sirius some protection. If memory serves, there's also an antidote which can prevent it if applied quickly. Sirius may have gotten his hands on some.

I think in book 1 on the chocolate frog card or something it was mentioned that the duel between dumbledore and the other guy took place in 1945.

Yeah, and in this it said (I believe) that the months Dumbledore and Grindelwald spent together were five years before the final duel, which would make it 1940, during the Blitz (yes?), when the Nazis were marching across Europe.

I didn't understand it that way - Grindelwald didn't start his grand plan of complete domination until some years after he fled from Godric's Hollow, while Dumbledore went on with his own career. Then Grindelwald became very powerful and dangerous, and yet Dumbledore waited for five years before he duelled him... the two months they spent together in England must have taken place in the early 20th c. (to me, it would be around 1915 or so - 25 years before the Blitz.)

Blitz

Yes. Roughly September of 1940 was when it started.

Actually, the Blitz in Poland started earlier. The Blitz in London and other English cities started in September, 1940. The Blitz in Poland happened in September, 1939.

Im surprised she didnt just have a copy of the quibbler float down the river. The random minor characters just happening to walk past and explain everything was a little too convenient.
Not that floating exposition mags wouldnt have been too.

Lol, I was hoping for a an all capitals Death chat as well... SUCH a disappointment. And hah, Pratchett fans were way ahead of Harry when he was confused about Death being able to talk. It was Death, Harry, not death. Jeez. :D

YES! YES! Andy Serkis must be Mundungus! He must!!!

I thought Lupin might be a traitor - well, imperiused. In chapter 5/6 I was trying to keep track of who'd proved their identity, when they all came back to the Burrow from Privet Drive. But then there were too many people to be suspicious of so I gave up.

Hermione = Angua, Ron = Carrot FTW!

And Death speaking in caps and telling the three brothers what numpties they were would be awesome.

Would you really want a sword to materialize if the snitch was in *your* mouth.
