I HAS A MONATR!!1

On the other hand, my monitor settings don't go up to the optimum resolution for this thing... do I need a new video card or can I download something or what? HELP ME, INTARNETS!

It's not that annoying ... just kinda stretchy and blurry. Way better than a dead monitor, that's for sure.

First, how old is your computer?

Second, we need to know what video card you have in there currently. Right-click on any blank space on the desktop, and select "Properties". In the "Settings" tab, it should say: "Display: plug and play monitor [or your monitor's name] on [your video card name]".

If that is uninformative, find a "My Computer", right-click, select "Properties", click the "Hardware" tab, click the "Device Manager" button, then expand the little "Display Adapters" section. That should tell you what video card is in there.

Third, we need to make sure you have the correct drivers.

Fourth, (this won't be an issue) - are you connecting with a VGA plug (BLUE) or a DVI plug (WHITE)?

Lastly, if you DO need a new video card, I have one sitting around that should push at least 1440x900, if not 1920x1200. And I have ANOTHER card that I may retire sometime in the fall, but that means waiting.

Feel free to sends me an email. Please include more of that delicious inter-net-speek.
