Wow.
I might, you know, run into him on the street someday and have no idea who he is. Maybe it's already happened. Wow.
They played about 2 minutes of the movie on the radio - the part where they attack the Acheron. I geeked out. It was great.
This is the second M&C related person they've had on The Roundup ... the first was one of the historical consultants, which was very cool. I know there's a guy on Bowen Island who worked on some of the models.... maybe if I keep listening they'll interview everybody! (hahaha)

It's the eleventh day of Christmas, so in honour of both that and the interview earlier today...
CHRISTMAS SURPRISE!
And now, an anecdote.
One of my most vivid memories from the years I spent as a child in San Diego is seeing the Star of India sail past the restaurant where by grandpa would take my family when he was in town. I loved the shape it made, decked out in a string of lights from bow to stern, along the tops of the masts, out there in the dark, and this is probably a significant beginning to my love of tall ships.
Nowadays, the Star of India shares its pier with none other than the very ship you see pictured above, the Rose (which may or may not have been rechristened after its starring role). I'm sure there is some adjective that would describe this perfectly. Ironic? Apt? Peculiar? Anyway, it's ... something.
