I was naughty and did my homework while watching TV. Or, more specifically – the first half of A Tale of Two Cities (Masterpiece Theatre/BBC version) which FINALLY came in at the library. I was crazy about this book, and this particular film adaptation, after we covered it in my Grade 10 English class. I was curious to see if it stood up to the ravages of time as well as Redwall had ... and, unfortunately, I can't say it has. Well, the story is still good, but the film has lost a bit of its sheen since my education in the field. One odd thing, however: in high school, Sydney Carton always really annoyed me, but now I find him probably the most sympathetic character in the whole thing. Maybe this is because I've met a few Cartons of my own since then...
