O fair Library, such a sanctuary for the lunchtime wanderer.

(Which makes today's sketchbook ... most ironic. As you shall see.)

Page one: My sister and I had an ... odd ... conversation last night, in which the image of a man in turn-of-the-century dress bludgeoning something with a large book came up. So ... yeah. I drew this in the library and didn't get arrested!
Page two has a caricature-from-memory of Oik-boy (who the three longtime readers of my blog will remember) along with the doodle on the post-it that I did at work. I'm starting to run out of free space on the post-its within arm's reach. There's also Mr. Trooper, your friendly neighbourhood [expert] hangman, who Mr. Albert Spangler gets to know for a few minutes.

I was naughty and did my homework while watching TV. Or, more specifically – the first half of A Tale of Two Cities (Masterpiece Theatre/BBC version) which FINALLY came in at the library. I was crazy about this book, and this particular film adaptation, after we covered it in my Grade 10 English class. I was curious to see if it stood up to the ravages of time as well as Redwall had ... and, unfortunately, I can't say it has. Well, the story is still good, but the film has lost a bit of its sheen since my education in the field. One odd thing, however: in high school, Sydney Carton always really annoyed me, but now I find him probably the most sympathetic character in the whole thing. Maybe this is because I've met a few Cartons of my own since then...

I am totally in love with your 'turn-of-the-century dress'ed men. SO UNBELIEVABLY ATTRACTIVE.

And <3 for Mr. Trooper! His expression and clothes are amazing. Spot-on!

Funny, because your response to the first one was exactly the effect I desired the drawing to have. Though it was mostly intended for my sister... it's nice to know someone else has similar .. er... interests. : )

Because ... well, I noticed I was throwing away an awful lot of them, and I thought "I wonder how many post-it notes are used in the revising of storyboards for an entire film?" So since then I've kept every one I've gotten (except the ones that got so much eraser dust on the back that they don't stick to anything, or the ones I could just cut right into the board) and ... the answer is "a lot." And we're not done yet! And that's not counting the ones Denise got on her boards.

Besides, they're handy scratch paper.

Hey! You're drawing all these piccys of random ppl, e.g. Mr Lipwig, who I have no idea who they are!! Is this a creation of the bowels of your mind, a fandom I am not privvy to, or a soon-to-be-released fandom?

*Blink*

Terry Pratchett. Discworld. Going Postal in particular. You can read it too! Everybody go postal! Wheeee! (way past my bedtime)

The Bowels of my Mind - or any other part of the digestive tract thereof - rarely come up with anything worth drawing all of their own accord.

NTS: Catch up on Discworld craze! So many ppl talking about it. (even our resident P.C. has read it! GASP!) Or maybe I won't... ha! That'll trick them! How many books are in the series? Is it a series? Must I read the first one first?

Oh, I don't know. I know the spleen of my mind can come up with some reletively interesting crap from time to time.

I Googled for it, there are more than 20 books! Fortunately they are for the most part independent stories, so you don't need to read them all. Though if I what I hear is right there is a chance you will. Which is why I think I'll try to wait until after the exams are over to get addicted. :-) I saw what happened last year when I discovered Harry Potter.
