Election Night
Nov. 8th, 2012 09:20 amIn the grand tradition of ... the last general election ... I spent the first few hours of the BBC's live US election coverage caricaturing the players. This is not skiving off but developing my professional skills, obviously.
( Under the Cut: Drawings Galore )
I missed David Dimbleby's glasses – I thought he used them to great effect last time and it just wasn't the same without that perpetual over-the-rims schoolmaster look. And there weren't as many guests as there were last time, or else I had to leave before they had most of them on; I stopped watching just after 7 on account of a previous engagement. And of course there was a big hole where the Simon Schama/John Bolton double act had been, but I suppose you can only get lightning to strike so many times ...
Just for the record, I'm trying to work on pushing caricatures past where they are attractive; everyone featured here looked much nicer (and usually younger) than my cruel pencil portrays them.
