In lieu of actual content:

A Milkman of the Apocalypse who predates Ronald Soak by several years appears in Lionel Nimrod's Inexplicable World this week (at about 22:37 if you're impatient or don't like Lee & Herring).

It's funny, listening to old stuff on BBC7, there are little things every so often that make me wonder if Mr Pratchett heard them back when they were new, and if they just lodged in his subconscious or if there was something more intentional going on. Then again, clever people sharing a common cultural background and media are bound to come up with the same ideas once in a while...

"I mean really. There's me War and Death in our hooded black shrouds and phantom steeds, and him coming along with a lil hat, apron and milk float! I mean, horses are FASTER than a Milk Float!"

Or about that anyway. I didn't want to quote it word of word :P. Bloody brilliant really. I do wonder if this was an era of people just generally takin the piss at Pestilence and therefore Pratchet and Gayman getting the inspiration to just do away with him alltogether and replace him with the opposite of this...milkman. :P

Nice to listen to.

I dunno if this has so much to do with Good Omens (which was either before or concurrent with this show) as it does Thief of Time which has, specifically, [MINOR SPOILER] a horseman of the apocalypse who has spent the non-apocalyptic years as a milkman.
