tealinA friend of mine recently pointed out the new Wolf Man. I've never really liked Wolf Men as they either looked like someone with overenthusiastic facial hair or overenthusiastic facial hair on rubbery prosthetics. This one I thought was the best yet, but it still looked more gorilla than wolf, I thought. Something about the thick tuft of hair atop the cranium and the naked wrinkly eyebrows ... He challenged me to design my take on a wolf man, so I thought, well, what makes a wolf look like a wolf? The snout, of course, but also the way the fur sticks out from the cheeks and the triangular ears that make a very distinctive silhouette. The long snout you can't really do well with prosthetics but there's no reason not to stick on some more lupine ears and mold the face shape with the fur, so I drew this in response:
I don't know how well it would actually work as makeup, but I hope it at least says 'wolf.'
