BBC7 is hosting a Pratchett Mini-Season, including rebroadcasts of Small Gods, The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents*, Truckers, Mort**, and Mr Pratchett's appearance on Bookclub.

SEE HERE, NOW.

*One of my favourite radio plays ever and my introduction to the 'radio movie.' Oddly enough, I don't think Dirk Maggs was involved with this one...
**HEAR Linguini in his previous role! MARVEL at the amazing similarity in character development! PONDER the possibility of a Pratchett fan at Pixar!

Huh. I am unfamiliar with Truckers.

Oo, I highly recommend it. It's a really good non-Discworld series he did, one of his previous 'for kids' books but it doesn't talk down as much as Maurice or the Tiffany books. A corking good story and also an allegory for the enlightenment and man's place in the universe, basically. How many kids' books can do that? :)

I should add Truckers is the first in a trilogy (the other two being Diggers and Wings) broadly known as The Bromeliad.

And Dreamworks has the rights to it.

Thankfully they seem to have forgotten that.

Oh! I've heard of the trilogy! Just not the individual titles! ^_^

I am very sad. I cannot hear Terry Pratchett discuss things such as fanfiction, Mort, or punnes, that is, a play on words.

Is there another way to get the audio files that you know of?

What? The Tenth Doctor's in Amazing Maurice? I spot an opportunity to con my two Doctor Who-loving friends into Discworld... or, well, Terry Pratchett anyway. It's a step. :)

Speaking of Discworld, have you seen or heard of this (http://www.impawards.com/2008/igor.html) movie yet? Apparently, all mad scientists have lab assistant Igors in the story...

Argh, RealPlayer! With Night Watch I could listen to it in a pop-up window, but I'm having issues with the listen-again feature. This looks really good, too. *Pratchett withdrawl*
