Iron Giant Screening

They're screening Iron Giant!

Allow me to register my intense envy!

Seriously, if you are available to go see it, go see it, whether you've seen it before or haven't. If you haven't, you're missing out on one of the best movies of the last 20 years. If you have, it is vastly better in the theatre than it is on DVD. And if you haven't seen it widescreen, you haven't seen it at all.

As for the rest of the country, well, we already suffer from not being San Francisco so we'll get over it. Maybe. Sigh.

I remember back in '99 there was a theater that showed movies after the original run was over for very delightfully reasonable prices. Even there popcorn was well priced, needless to say this pleased the Jew and Scot in me. My family would often go there, and one time we went and took in Inspector Gadget. Not one of us enjoyed it, not even the youngest members of our party of on ten. After it was finished we walked disgustedly out of the theater. We at in the car for about minute before in unison we all got out, ad bought some more tickets to the Iron Giant. Needless to say we left with better hopes for the future of movies.
