Seriously, though, watch it. Even if you don't think you'll like it, give it a try. I thought it was going to be preachy and political or irritatingly sentimental but it's not – it's funny, heartbreaking, fascinating, human, and just generally fantastic. WATCH IT.

I've already watched it a while ago with my boyfriend.
Both of us kind of liked it. It was a nice movie to see. :)
(and I loved the black-white backgrounds... there were such nice landscapes here and there ^^)

As soon as I saw the previews I wanted to see it, just because the animation looked cool, as in different from anything else I've seen lately. The story sounded interesting too. Everyone else said, "well that looks bizarre," so I'll probably be seeing it alone. XD

Have you read the graphic novel it was based on? I had to read it for a Comic Lit class in college and though it was a little slow in places, it was just like you describe the film.

I haven't seen the film yet... want to, though.
