What's more fun than a dorky crossover gag? A crossover with a running joke!

Sigh.

Thanks for the praise, but I think this one (http://twirlynoodle.livejournal.com/235997.html) is still better. Such a challenge!

It looks like Dr. Horrible is looking for reasons to be pissed off at that cookie.

It also looks like Sweeney is thinking "you gonna eat that???"

Probably pissed that Captain Hammer stole Penny and all he was left with was this stupid cookie.

Or something. ;)

I approve of this running joke and eagerly await for more.

of course we need one with Vader trying to figure out how hes going to eat a cookie through the helmet.

What Doc Horrible needs is some frozen yogurt to dip his cookie into.

The Phantom looks kinda pissed off at his cookie. Sort of like "Fine, I'll eat the friggin' cookie. But it had better be good." I think he knows that he'll be getting the least attention out of the three...

LOL

Mind telling that to the judges of the Springville Museum of Art's high school show? :)

It's not quite dogs playing poker... maybe if I made it out of shredded superhero comics and entitled it 'Vertigo of Ostracization' with an accompanying essay on the fundamental truths behind it, it might have some artistic integrity...

This is so perfect. I love their expressions! Also, I really want this to be a cartoon show, oh man. Best concentrated dose of villainy ever!

Having worked in TV animation, I can tell you from the depth of my heart, you do not want this to be a cartoon show. Maybe – maybe if Joss Whedon was writing and directing, but even then it's an outside chance. Way outside. Like Mongolia outside.

That is an amazing Dr. Horrible, but Erik is kinda BLAH compared to the awesome that is the Doctor (not that one :D) and Sweeney, whose cookie, one can assume, is pie flavoured?

I was kind of going off the vague impression left in my head from Michael Crawford's voice (which was rectangular and with teeth) but I can justify my laziness by saying I dind't want him to be too interesting because the focus of the drawing is supposed to be Dr Horrible.

I'm still not crazy about that caricature. Mr Harris has ... just ... such an odd facial structure. Not freaky, just not what I'm used to drawing. A challenge! I must devote more study to this. And expressions. There will be stop-framing of the death ray scene in my future.

Purely professional interests, you understand.

Awww, poor Dr. Scowly Face.

Reminds me of Cancer Man's riff on the "Life is like a box of chocolates" speech. Which I still have memorized, sadly enough.

I love the subtler commonality.

I don't know about the Phantom but didn't Sweeny also inadvertantly participate in causing the death of the woman he loves?

Date: 2008-07-24 02:43 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] brennildandd.livejournal.com
Sweeny in fact personally killed his beloved wife, although he didn't know it was her at the time.

Dr. H is totally like, "I don't feel...... a thing. Not even hungry."

It took me literally ten minutes to figure out the guy in the back was the Phantom. For some reason, I was convinced it was Javert from Les Miserables. Then I spotted the mask.

My brother and sister and I are going to use this design for party invitations.

Wouldn't quite call these dudes villains, though. More like 'anti-heroes,' since they're all title characters.

Date: 2008-07-25 04:13 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] twirlynoodle.livejournal.com
Javert could use a cookie, too. Preferably on a plate that says 'lighten up.'

COOKIE PARTY! If Tim Burton and Joss Whedon sue you, it is not my fault. :)

Hmm... I suppose it's a more or less objective term, but to me anti-hero is someone more like Moist (er, Pratchett Moist), who doesn't have any noble aspirations or moral stamina. These guys, while protagonists of their own stories, um ... they kill people. They're obviously not the 'good guys.' Salieri's a protagonist villain, too. 'Villain' is more a judgment of character than assignation of a role in the plot as 'antagonist' is. To my perception, anyway.
