I promised [livejournal.com profile] octaveleap a drawing in return for sending me the sheet music to her utterly sublime "Waltz for Lemony and Beatrice."

That was three years ago.

I'm sorry! I'm a horrible person! Groveling and gnashing of teeth!

I like how well you managed to make her dress look like it's really made of sequins. Great poses as well.

Wow! I've never seen someone do successful foreshortening of a waltz from that angle; I just keep staring at their calves! Really, really fantastic.

I wish I could have gotten more motion into it ...

I can understand that, although I think you've got a decent amount of motion with the antennae following the arc of the cape. But remember, she's looking into his eyes, they're having a moment, and more motion will take away from that.

YAY YOU POSTED IT!!!

I *LOVE* that drawing so very much. It makes me want to rework that waltz again. And re-read the series. You even made sure not to show Mr. Snicket's face. You are a wonderful person, you know that?

No, YOU are a wonderful person. I just muddle along, and occasionally reflect the wonderfulness of those around me. You are probably the best human being I know.

If you do rework that waltz again ... is it possible ... you might find it in your heart ... to do a xylophone arrangement as well? I've always wanted to use it for a cell phone ring but the only sound that carries through my bag and above most other background noise is the percussive treble of the xylophone. I won't promise you another drawing because we saw how well that worked the first time, but there might be a batch of matcha lemonade in it for you... :D

You got it! You shall have your xylophone arrangement, even if a person can't be xylophone. Expect it within the next three years. :^D xoxo

Hoorah! Maybe in that time I will get a cell phone whose 'set your own ringtone' mechanism I actually understand! :D

I will be xylophone.

Incredibly awesome drawing; it has a LOT of character in it. And I would love to hear this song, if possible.

That is up to Ovtaveleap and the availability of free sound-sharing websites ... is there anything like Photobucket for audio?

Um..? Well, it's kind of old, and... not... very good, and it's a MIDI file. (I'm trying to make an mp3 of it, but since none of the filters on my mixing program sound good, it means i have to do a live recording, which could take a while.) I'll share the MIDI with you if you want, but don't expect it to be a total masterpiece. :-p

I think the brilliance shines through the MIDIness.

If you need someone to play violin on your live recording.... :D

Dude! Speaking of drawings! I asked Wayne and... he didn't give me an informative answer. So I'll ask him again when he wakes up and get back to you. ^_^O

So this is completely off topic, but I was looking for your life drawing sketches becuase I KNOW I've seen them on here before, and couldn't find them. Even though what I was really curious about are the poses, because I've just started a job as a life drawing class model, and figured they might give me insight (it makes sense to me). Or if you have any helpful tips? :D
