I went to Hollywood Saturday night to see my sister's studio (very cool!) and wouldn't you know, there was some huge awards ceremony or something that had set up camp in the middle of town, shutting down the street and just generally being a hassle. Sheesh, who do they think they are, movie stars or something?
Anyway, while you're watching the Oscars tonight and seeing everyone's* best face, ONLY HERE do you get UNPRECEDEDNTED** BEHIND THE SCENES ACCESS! (i.e. The backs of things! Yay!)
*Not least Hollywood's itself – it's not really the nicest part of town, the rest of the year.
**for a given value of 'unprecedented'

![]() Here's a secret about the Kodak Theatre: It's in a mall. A shopping mall. With shops. And a food court. You know that glittering corridor and stairway lined with red curtains and Oscar statues? The curtains cover the storefronts and the Oscars make it look fancy. This picture is looking toward the central courtyard area from across the street. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Date: 2009-02-23 02:16 am (UTC)P.S: other than the nominated film directors does anyone in animation get access to all this needlessly grandeur celebration?
