Drawing 5 - Caricature Show sneak peek

Every year* Disney has a caricature show, where artists working at the studio post caricatures of their colleagues. Ever since the call for submissions there has been an increase in intense gazes and a certain distracted air in conversations as people analyze features and make drawings in their heads. I stayed late last night doodling up people I know** and even did a couple when I got home in order not to lose the shred of inspiration. This is one of those. I figure she's pretty safe to post as I don't think anyone who knows her reads this blog, as would have been the case for most of the people I caricatured last night.

*If memory serves, last year was the first time they had it again, after a long hiatus during The Bad Old Days, but they're going to keep having it now, they say...
**I never used to be able to caricature people I know, I used to need the objective look of a stranger. I guess I'm improving! This is an encouraging thought.

A political cartoonist did my caricature when I was in Arizona this past summer. It was pretty cool, although I'm not sure how much it looks like me--really could be any girl with long dark hair and glasses, I think.

I've never done a caricature of anyone, personally. I usually go for realistic, if I draw at all--I'm better at written art.

I really want a hat like that. The kind that Matt Smith allegedly wears, although I've wanted one since before that.
